Registration is now open for Orthomed’s latest Plate Osteosynthesis workshop on February 13th, 2022.
This full day course features a new surgery-focused curriculum on plate osteosynthesis from theory to practical surgical technique. Participants will be granted access to essential foundational content online prior to the workshop. The course will incorporate the new low-profile SOP™.
Following a Q & A session based on the online content, the day will focus on the practicalities of performing the surgery with the aid of both saw bones and cadavers. The workshop will be taught by Dr. Bruce Nwadike, DVM Dip ACVS, MRCVS.
This course on plate osteosynthesis will cover fracture and implant biomechanics, bone healing principles, assessment of fracture patient, fracture score, internal fracture fixation, how to apply non locking plates, locking plates and screws, how SOP™ differs to existing implant systems, SOP™ biomechanics, SOP™ clinical recommendations, SOP™ sawbone practical and SOP™ cadaver practical (course dependent).
This course is intended for practicing veterinarians looking to gain practical and foundational knowledge about fracture repair and the use of the SOPTM system This course is intended to familiarize participants with relevant equipment and cover patient workup, procedural indications, post-operative care, as well as basic hands-on skills.
